The Entrepreneurship Enhancement Skills Programme For Indian Community Programme (Emphatic) is an initiative specifically designed to assist the Indian community to acquire entrepreneural skills and competencies to enable them to venture into businesses especially those fall under the B40 category. Trainees who participate in the programme will be equipped with entrepreneurial skills in the area of businesses that are strategic for the Indian community to increase their social economy as well as secure employment. Among the courses offered under the Empathic programme are Ayurveda Wellness Therapist Certificate, Operation And Maintenance Of Boilers For Commercial And Industrial Sectors, Household Plumbing And Electrical , Air Conditioning Installation And Maintenance Contractor and Auxiliary Police Training and Employment Opportunity.
Training are to be conducted on full time basis at the approved training institutions with the duration of one (1) to three (3) months. Upon completion of the training, trainees will be provided with further guidence in the form of coaching and mentoring by the training institutions up to three (3) months duration until they are able to operate their own businesses.
The objectives of the Entrepreneurship Enhancement Skills Programme for Indian Community (EMPhAtIC) programme are to:
Equip trainees with skills and knowledge to enable them to venture into businesses that may increase their income;
Create platform for the Indian community to improve their socio-economic status by providing self-employment opportunities to generate income; and
Increase the number of Indian community particularly the group of B40 to involve in doing businesses to support the Government’s efforts to improve human capital productivity.
