Sectorial Training Committee (STC)
Sectorial Training Committee (STC) is the initiative of the Malaysia Government which is mobilised by Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB).Since its inception in year 2014, 19 STCs comprising of 63 sub-sectors are covered under the PSMB Act, 2001, clustered based on the similarity of their nature of businesses as well as the Government’s prioritised industries as highlighted in the 12 National Key Economic Areas (NKEA).
Main objective for the establishment of STCs :
To identify the training needs of relevant industries that correspond to their advancement in technology, system and processes.
Roles and responsibilities of the STCs :
Provide inputs on the latest knowledge and expertise to assist the industries in identifying skills gaps;
Identify training programmes needed by the industries;
Conduct effectiveness study on past training programmes attended by the industries;
Provide inputs for improvements to PSMB that cater the current and future needs of the specific industries; and
Establish collaboration between PSMB and the industries on future projects / initiatives as required by the Government and PSMB.
